Requirements for SSW
Building Cleaning
The SSW (Tokutei Ginou) Visa – Building Cleaning allows foreign workers to work in cleaning and
maintenance of buildings, offices, hotels, and commercial spaces in Japan.
Age Requirement
• Applicants must generally be between 18 and 40 years old to qualify for the visa.
Skills and Exam Requirements:
To qualify, you must pass:

Skills Test:
• Tokutei Ginou (特定技能) Exam – Automobile Transport
• Covers truck driving, vehicle operation, safety protocols, and cargo handling

Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT or JFT-Basic)
• Must pass JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic (A2 level)

Job Duties under SSW - Building Cleaning
✔ Cleaning offices, hotels, malls, and public buildings
✔ Using cleaning machines and tools properly
✔ Waste disposal and recycling management
✔ maintaining hygiene and safety standards

Visa & Employment Details
• Initial Duration: 1 year, renewable up to 5 years
• No Family Sponsorship: Cannot bring spouse or children
• Employer Sponsorship: Must have a job offer from a Japanese cleaning company
• Salary: Equal to or higher than a Japanese worker in the same role
• Industry Support Organization: Ensures fair treatment and training

Step 1: Prepare for the Exams
