Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT N5) is the beginner level of the internationally recognised JLPT exam, designed for learners who are starting their Japanese language journey. It measures the ability to understand basic Japanese, including simple vocabulary, common phrases, and fundamental grammar. At this level, learners are expected to read and comprehend short sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and a limited number of basic kanji, as well as understand simple conversations spoken slowly in everyday situations.
